KUSA and KTVD is currently not available on DISH. That means DISH is taking away your favorite NBC programming, including NFL Sunday Night Football, entertainment programming such as The Voice, This Is Us, Chicago P.D., and Law & Order: SVU, as well as your local news, weather and sports. Consider switching to a new video provider or tell DISH to bring back KUSA and KTVD, by calling 1-855-512-7790.
In order for KUSA and KTVD to be delivered to your home, we negotiate agreements for the rights to carry our station with video service providers like DISH. KUSA and KTVD have agreements in place with all of the video providers in our area, including DIRECTV, Comcast and Spectrum. In fact, our company has had only one disruption in our recent history, and that was resolved in a matter of hours.
Unfortunately, DISH refused to reach a fair, market-based agreement with us, which is why our station is not currently available on DISH.
Q: Why is DISH refusing to reach an agreement to carry KUSA and KTVD?
A: We cannot speak for DISH. But here is what our audience should know: KUSA and KTVD are committed to reaching fair, market-based agreements with all the video service providers in our area. Our track record proves it. Over the past few years, we reached hundreds of multi-year deals with cable and satellite companies all across the country, including DIRECTV, Comcast, Charter and many others. In fact, we have had only ONE disruption in our recent history due to a contract dispute and that was resolved within a matter of hours. So, it has been disappointing that so far DISH has refused to reach an agreement.
Q: Will KUSA and KTVD ever be back on the DISH system?
A: We hope so. It is really up to DISH to decide. We are committed to reaching a fair deal. If DISH is willing to make the same commitment, then we are confident that we can get an agreement that restores our station to the DISH lineup.
Q: What can I do to avoid missing my favorite sports, news and shows?
A: You have choices. KUSA and KTVD are available on other video service providers in our area including DIRECTV, Comcast and Spectrum and you can always get KUSA and KTVD free over-the-air.
You can also access KUSA and KTVD programming on many over-the-top (OTT) providers like DIRECTV Now and YouTube TV that offer instant access when you sign up.
Q: I have heard DISH say that KUSA and KTVD are demanding a big fee increase, which would lead to higher bills. Is that true?
A: KUSA and KTVD have successfully negotiated agreements with all the other providers in our area. In fact, over the past few years, we’ve reached hundreds of deals with cable and satellite companies all across the country. Those providers all felt that they were able to reach a fair deal with us while continuing to offer value to their subscribers. There is no reason why this negotiation with DISH should be different.
Q: Isn’t it unfair that I lose access to a channel that I’m paying for just because two companies can’t reach a deal?
A: We agree – it is unfair. After all, you pay your bill to DISH every month. You deserve the full set of channels you are paying for. That is why we are working hard to reach a fair, market-based deal with DISH.
